Global warming consequences and ways to prevent global Warming.

Let us start the New Year 2011 with "Think Green "campaign. This is to remind people to be mindful and sensitive to the natural environment in our daily life. Our main objective should be to increase the awareness of environmental issues that affects the future of the planet. Note that even though the problem of making our plant green is big now, each one of us can make a difference if we decide to fine -tune our lifestyle. Together we can and we will make the difference." Every moment is the right moment to begin" and "Every person is the right person to act".

There is compelling evidence of effects of global warming from all over the world that our planet's weather and climate patterns are changing. Global warming consequences include droughts, receding glaciers and ice caps, extreme storms, rise in ocean temperatures and sea levels, shifts in distribution of organisms and diseases.Scientists tracking these events overwhelmingly believe that global climate change is a fact There are many simple things we can do in our daily life - what we eat, what we drive, how we build our home- that can have an effect on our immediate surrounding. Here are a list of few things that we can do make a difference.

Use Compact Fluorescent Bulbs - Replace frequently used light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. CFLs use 60% less energy than a regular bulb.

Change Your Air Filter - Check your car' air filter monthly.

Use Recycled Paper - Make sure your printer paper is 100%post consumer recycled paper.

Change the AC Filter - Clean or replace dirty air conditioner filters as recommended.

Buy Products Locally - Buy locally and reduce the amount of energy required to drive your products to your store.

Plant a Tree - Trees suck up carbon dioxide and make clean air for us to breathe.

Install a programmable thermostat- Move your thermostat down 2° in winter and up 2° in summer. It will automatically lower the heat or air conditioning at night and raise them again in the morning. You can save up to $100 a year on your energy bill.

Buy only 5 star electrical appliance - They are several energy efficient product available in the market.

Recycle your organic waste - Recycling organic waste or compost it. Around 3% of the greenhouse gas emissions is  through the methane released by decomposing bio-degradable waste.

Switch to green power - Use wind and solar energy were ever possible.

Start a carpool with your coworkers or classmates - Sharing a ride with someone will reduce your carbon dioxide emissions.

Eat less meat - Methane is the second most significant greenhouse gas and cows are one of the greatest methane emitters.

Conservation of forest - Forests play a critical role in global warming They store carbon dioxide.. When forests are burned or cut down, their stored carbon dioxide. is release into the atmosphere -

Use biodegradable cleaners - For cleaning, prefer using natural or nontoxic cleaning products.

Check Tire Pressure Periodically - Under-inflated tires can reduce fuel economy by up to 3% and increased wear and tear of the tire and carbon dioxide emission.

Go for hybrid vehicle - Investing in a hybrid or electric vehicle so as to avoid further global warming.
